We Made it!

We made it to Hong Kong!...and let me tell you it was quite the ride...

It began in St. George at 3:30 in the morning. Sleep was not to be found as nerves and excitement were overcoming! Seth drove us down to Las Vegas and after only a couple of circles of back-tracking we made it in. I am so thankful for children. They are such a blessing. Instead of waiting another 45 minutes in the security line we were ushered to the wheelchair line with our stroller and avoided the stress.

As you can see Maleah just knew that we were in for something long, but she wasn't sure what. The flight from Las Vegas to San Francisco was great. We were in the United Plus section where they brag about their extra 5 inches of leg room. I never realized how much space 5 inches provided until we were on the flight to Hong Kong and we were packed in tight. We were so blessed to have an empty seat next to us so Maleah could sprawl out and have her own seat. Of course all the flight attendants loved her so we (or I should say 'she') got special treatment the whole flight. We let her sleep as much as possible and overall she did great!

(Our Plane from San Fran to Hong Kong)

When we made it to Hong Kong it was nice to have one of our friends there waiting for us with a rented van and driver to take us to our new place. They even got us a bed so we didn't have to sleep on the floor for the first few nights. We are truly blessed. Now were are here...wow! It still seems a bit unreal. Waking up in Hong Kong felt so natural. My dad kept saying that we were just going home and I never felt like that was the case until we got here and everything was all second nature. Speaking of nature...So we decided that we wanted to be away from the middle of everything this time and live in a more quiet area. We found a great apartment in Sai Kung that is everything we hoped for and more! (We even have a 700 sqft. rooftop that you can bet we are going to have some rockin' BBQs on!) We had no idea though that when we decided to move to the rural areas of Hong Kong that it would be so literal. (I mean there are still thousands of people in the area, buses, and taxis but just not so concentrated.) That's when the cows came rolling in one night! It seemed pretty random. We still don't know if they are wild or if someone owns them and thinks it is funny to drop atomic sized turds on the sidewalks in front of our house. We are hoping they are wild so we can get a permit for one of them and show these people what it means to have fresh beef!...anyways...We love you and miss all of you! Please keep in touch and stay tune for further updates on our adventures here in Hong Kong China! Here are some pictures of our house and of course the cows!

The cows: As you can see you don't want to hit a cow with your car because the cow is bigger than the car and would crush you!

Our apartment is there in the middle on the top floor! It is really spacious and in a quiet village! Below is a pulled back shot so you can see our neighbors. Each floor is a different family usually. If a family owns the whole building they will probably have parents, kids and their families and other relatives living with them.

This is the beautiful Mountain View from our rooftop. The first morning we were here I didn't waste anytime running down to the waterfront and run by the ocean! Yes my friends it's paradise!

Doot! Doot Do Do! Announcement!

Trumpets Are Sounding!

We leave for Hong Kong Monday!

We couldn't stay away from the place that we love! We are moving back to Hong Kong for a while... After coming home to have a beautiful baby and for me to finish school we are ready to embark on a new adventure! I have gained ownership in the English Learning Centers that I worked for before and now we are ready to expand and grow. We feel so blessed to have the great support that we do and for the blessings we have experienced as we have prepared for this move. We are excited, but at the same time it is hard to leave our loved ones that share such wonderful experiences with us. We owe it to our family and friends to keep the blog updated. (Obviously it is mostly for the grandparents who really just want to see and hear about Maleah) We love everyone so much! Please keep in touch! We can be found by e-mail, skype, phone, and in person in Hong Kong (We really welcome all to come and spend some time with us!)
